What’s funding this week…
UNDP Small Grant (US$60,000 and US$125,000) for NGOs and CSOs in Developing Countries
The Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has opened its second call for proposals for small grant funding.
The AFCIA will provide small grants to developing countries to support innovation for effective, long-term adaptation to climate change and is part of the Adaptation Fund’s Innovation Facility.
The main objective of the grants – US$60,000 and US$125,000 – is to enhance local climate action and accelerate the delivery of targets outlined in the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals, through the implementation and diffusion of innovative locally-led adaptation practices, tools, and technologies.
Global Agriculture and Food Security Program: Call for Proposals (US$175M in Grant Funding)
The Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) has launched its Seventh Call for Proposals and is currently accepting proposals for grant financing for Country-led projects to support low-income countries in their food crisis responses, addressing the impacts of the current global crisis.
The GAFSP Steering Committee expects to allocate approximately US$175 million in grant funding to the highest-ranked proposals.
The Commonwealth Foundation Grants Call 2022-2023 (£15,000-£30,000 per year)
The Commonwealth Foundation is pleased to announce its grant program to bring the voice of civil society into all aspects of governance, supporting civil society engagement in shaping the policies and decisions that affect people’s lives.
Applicants must address one or more of the Foundation’s three priority themes:
Health
Environment and climate change
Freedom of expression
They seek to support initiatives that encourage and make possible meaningful and constructive engagement between civil society and government around policy and decision-making relevant to these three themes.
WWF’s Reforestation Grants to support Local Communities and Promote Livelihoods and Gender Equity
To facilitate local communities and organizations’ efforts towards the restoration of degraded landscapes, WWF’s Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program (EFN) provides grants to contribute to the initiatives of local organizations dedicated to restoring forest ecosystems. These grants also enhance the local capacity for managing natural resources whilst promoting more diversified livelihoods with gender equity.
Applications should clearly demonstrate how the proposed work aims to address the challenge of halting deforestation and forest degradation to advance human well-being and ecosystem integrity.
Microsoft AI for Accessibility Programme 2022: Call for Proposals for Low-Cost Assistive Technology
The Microsoft AI for Accessibility program is calling for project proposals that advance equitable access to assistive technology in low and middle-income countries. Unlike many of our previous award rounds, the use of AI is optional and not a requirement. All types of organizations are encouraged to apply — they support startups, nonprofits, academic institutions, and more.
They accept applications from any country or region and this round is particularly focused on innovations that will empower people with disabilities outside of the US in low and middle- income countries.
Call for Proposals: Local Transformation Projects 2023 in Thailand and Laos
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok is pleased to launch a call for proposals for the Local Transformation Projects (LTPs) for the year 2023.
In accordance with the Concept of the Czech Republic’s Human Rights and Transition Promotion Policy, the projects should focus on the following areas:
Supporting civil society, including human rights defenders;
Promoting the freedom of expression and information, including the freedom of media;
Promoting equal and full political and public participation;
Supporting institution-building in the area of the rule of law;
Promoting equality and non-discrimination;
Promoting human rights in the areas of employment and environment protection.

Enabling Lives Initiative Grant in Singapore
The Grant is funded by Tote Board and administered by SG Enable. The renewed tranche (2020 – 2024) remains relevant in spurring innovation to meet the needs of persons with disabilities, bringing together the community to improve the Quality of Life of persons with disabilities. The funding seeks to support the initial resource-intensive phase of embarking on projects and programs.

USAID: INSPIRE Project 2nd Grant Cycle in the Philippines
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is pleased to announce the opening of the Second Grant Cycle of the Investing in Sustainability and Partnerships for Inclusive Growth and Regenerative Ecosystems (INSPIRE) Project, a five-year grant facility that supports various environmental efforts by civil society groups in the Philippines. The grants can support local climate mitigation and actions, biodiversity conservation, anti-wildlife trafficking and anti-poaching, and natural resource management. Application is open to all civil society organizations.
