UNFCCC – UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme
The UNFCCC – UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme offers young people from developing countries a unique opportunity to start their careers at the interface between international climate policy development and research. Academically outstanding young graduates from developing countries who are in the early stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to women, amongst whom those from Least Developed Countries will be given the highest priority.
Fellowships will last for one year, with the possibility of an extension of one further year subject to satisfactory performance. Fellows will be selected based on their skills and backgrounds vis-à-vis the respective purviews and foci of UNU-EHS/ViE and UNFCCC.
Upon completion of the UNFCCC – UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme, the Early Career Climate Fellows will be able to work in their home countries or internationally, deploying the valuable experience and insights they have gained in Bonn.
USAID’s ESP Activity: Innovative Energy Systems in Fish & Agro-Processing Industries (Philippines)(PDF)
The USAID Energy Secure Philippines (ESP) Activity through its Energy Evolution Challenge grant facility seeks applications to fund, in the form of grants, qualified organizations/companies to catalyze innovative, replicable, and scalable energy systems solutions in the Fish- and AgroProcessing Industries in the Philippines where they do not already exist or complement existing ones.
This RFA provides prospective applicants with a fair opportunity to develop and submit applications to USAID ESP Activity for potential funding. The grant will support entities that have a robust design and plan, and the capacity to subsequently implement innovative energy solutions that will showcase the benefits of institutionalizing energy management systems in either or both target industries. The application should also demonstrate that the proposed innovative energy solutions contribute to the quantity and quality of local produce.
Obama Foundation Scholars Program for Global Leaders
The Obama Foundation Scholars program seeks emerging leaders from the United States and around the world, who are focused on an issue of global importance, have a track record and commitment to advancing the public good and want to accelerate their impact through an intensive program.
The Obama Foundation Scholars program seeks diverse cohorts who represent a cross-section of backgrounds including those working in government, the private sector, and NGOs and civil society organizations.
The program will build lasting relationships among emerging leaders who are committed to working together to solve the most pressing challenges of our time, thereby creating a global network that reaches across issues and borders.
TransformU Bodyright Student Challenge 2022
UNFPA’s Division of Communications and Strategic Partnerships is launching a social media challenge for students of universities globally, including but not limited to individual students, youth associations, student groups and networks, and youth advocacy groups to develop creative and engaging content on the theme of “Bodyright”.
The challenge will serve to create awareness of the issues related to online violence against women and girls. The winner will have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City to attend a global advocacy event at the UN Secretariat.
In an effort to work effectively with the academic community, UNFPA created and formally launched a University Network (called TransformU) in March 2019. TransformU is a membership-based network that invites institutions of higher education, continuing education, and educational associations to join UNFPA’s vision to address UNFPA’s transformative results. One of the key priorities for the TransformU network is to increase student awareness and engagement in UNFPA’s work.
Call for Papers: ADB-IEA Innovative Policy Research Award 2023
The ADB-IEA Innovative Policy Research Award promotes the application of innovative empirical research in economics to support evidence-based policies for addressing key development challenges in Asia and the Pacific.
There is no restriction on topics or themes. ADB’s current operational priorities include (i) tackling climate change as the region is currently producing half of global greenhouse gas emissions; (ii) addressing inequality due to the “digital divide” following rapid digitalization in many parts of the region; (iii) enhancing regional cooperation to facilitate faster recovery of trade and investment in the region; and (iv) increasing fiscal and economic resilience post-pandemic.
The author of the award-winning paper will receive a $7,000 grant financed by ADB. If the winning paper has coauthors, the award will be shared equally among co-authors.
The top three papers will be presented at the ADB-IEA Award session of the 2023 ADB Annual Meeting. ADB intends to apply the ideas generated by the award-winning paper to its operations and policy advice.
Call for Applications: Wenhui Award 2022
The Wenhui Award recognizes and rewards individuals or institutions that have made outstanding contributions to educational innovation in the Asia-Pacific region.
The award was created by the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (APEID) and the National Commission of the People’s Republic of China for UNESCO in 2010. Since the inception of the Wenhui Award, there have been 22 Winners and 34 Honourable Mentions from 19 different countries.
This year’s Wenhui Award is themed “Educational Innovations for Learning Recovery”, with the objective to identify, acknowledge and encourage innovative policies and practices in various dimensions of the education system in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Award shall be conferred on two individuals or institutions in the Asia-Pacific region for their outstanding efforts and achievements in educational innovation focused on this year’s theme. The two winners will each receive a Certificate of Excellence and a prize of USD 20,000. Apart from the winners, Honourable Mention will be granted to individuals or institutions that have demonstrated commendable innovative educational practices.
Deloitte One Young World Scholarship 2023

Through their strategic initiatives, WorldClass and WorldClimate, they are committed to expanding opportunities for 100 million people globally by 2030, as well as addressing climate change, both within the organization and beyond.
As a longstanding partner of One Young World, they support the Deloitte One Young World Scholarship 2023 which will enable 5 outstanding young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit in Belfast, United Kingdom on 2 – 5 October 2023.
This scholarship is intended for young leaders focused on tackling these challenges, by either reducing the causes and effects of climate change, or improving the education, skills, and access to opportunities, in their communities, countries, or the world at large.
Cisco Youth Leadership Award: Recognizing the World’s Most Inspiring Youth Leaders
The Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award was established by Cisco and Global Citizen to recognize and lift up a young person who positively impacts the world, demonstrate the impact that young people are having on achieving the United Nation's Global Goals, and accelerate global problem-solving.
The Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award honors an individual aged 18-30 who has contributed meaningfully towards the goal of ending extreme poverty. The award includes a US$250,000 prize paid to the organization to which the individual contributes.
Teach For Malaysia Fellowship 2023
The Teach For Malaysia Fellowship is an intensive, full-time, fully-paid, two-year leadership development program in which Fellows teach in a high-need school. Fellows make a difference for the students and communities while identifying how they can be part of the solution to educational inequity. Their Fellows receive intensive training and mentoring to develop themselves as a leader.
