Global
UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships in Engineering
To promote human resource capacities in science and engineering in developing countries and to enhance international understanding and friendship among peoples, 30 fellowships of six months duration, starting on 2nd October 2023 are offered by UNESCO, the Polish National Commission for UNESCO, and the UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology, and Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland.
Facilities Offered by the Polish authorities:
Free tuition and access to university facilities are based on local regulations.
Monthly allowance of 1500 PLN for BSc degree students and 2200 PLN for MSc degree students (1 USD = approximately 4,40 PLN).
A one-time special allowance of 1500 PLN for BSc degree students or 2200 PLN for MSc is to be paid upon arrival in Poland.
Facilities Offered by UNESCO:
Air travel ticket (the most direct and economical route) to and from Krakow, Poland.
Health insurance (up to 50,000US$ in accordance with EU requirements for Schengen visa) for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit.
One-time special pocket allowance amounting to 120 (one hundred and twenty) US dollars.

Rest of World Labor x Tech Reporting Fellowship
Rest of World is looking for four reporting fellows to join them for a full year and produce a series of articles on tech’s relationship with labor, and the tech industry’s influence on both the nature of work and the state of workers. The fellowship is designed to engage reporters native to the regions they cover who have a basic understanding of those regions’ tech and business landscape.
The reporting fellows will become part of their regular reporting team on the ground, helping shape their storytelling by contributing original ideas for stories, and working alongside their reporters and editors based around the world.
Fellows will receive a stipend of $40,000 for 12 months, running from mid-May 2023 to mid-May 2024. Rest of World will cover all costs related to the reporting of the stories, including travel costs.

Open Call: DRL Combating Transnational Digital Repression in the Europe and Eurasia region (EUR)
The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects to strengthen the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms online through an open, interoperable, reliable, and secure global Internet, with a focus on digital security.
Competitive proposals will develop and implement programs to protect displaced communities and individuals in the Europe and Eurasia region (EUR) region, at-risk of, and vulnerable to, transnational digital attacks from actors in other EUR countries, including those from which they have been displaced.

XTC Sustainability Startup Challenge at ChangeNow
Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) is the world’s largest ecosystem and competition for purpose-driven technology inspired by the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They are seeking new ventures that have developed breakthrough innovations in climate solutions focused on the circular economy or urban development:
Circular Economy: Innovative solutions aimed at sustainable production, consumption, and resource use by minimizing pollution, turning waste products into productive assets, extending product lifecycles, and sharing products and services.
Urban Development: Digital, infrastructure, and related solutions that make urban development more sustainable.
Submission deadline: April 7, 2023.
The Challenge is a funding call to energy startups from around the world with clean technology solutions to come to Canada to access grant funding, technology validation for product market fit, and future energy customers.
The Global Cleantech Challenge will allow NGIF Industry Grants to provide funding from its 14 energy company participants to support the development and demonstration of novel clean technologies from anywhere across the world. Each demonstration project undertaken in Canada is eligible to receive up to $1MM CAD, representing as much as 50% of a project's qualifying expenses.

IBM Sustainability Accelerator Water Cohort
IBM believes that the power of science, technology, and innovation can help tackle environmental issues while helping communities address societal needs. The IBM Sustainability Accelerator has ten active engagements, each with a different organization, divided into two cohorts: one focused on sustainable agriculture (2021), and the other focused on clean energy (2022). The Accelerator is currently accepting proposals for the next cohort, which will focus on water management.
Throughout the experience, IBM provides organizations with credits for IBM Cloud and IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite Data APIs as well as technical mentorship to advance the initiative of focus within the Accelerator.

Open Call: The Rise Mentoring Program 2023
Award-winning Rise Mentoring is a free, six-month program to support women working in, or aspiring to work in the media technology sector. It is open to women working or aspiring to work in the media technology industry. This could include women working in technical/engineering roles, through to those working in support roles, such as marketing and PR. It will run from May-November 2023.

William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding
The William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding is dedicated to the professional development of the next generation of leaders committed to addressing conflict and peacebuilding in Asia and the Pacific. Emphasis is placed on network-building between fellows and the global peacebuilding community to support and elevate the fellows’ development and work.
Professional Development Award: A flexible $5,000 USD grant to support each fellow’s individually tailored project, advance professional goals, or further their work in the peacebuilding arena.

Our Mekong, Our Say Step-Up Video Storytelling Fellowship
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network launches the Our Mekong, Our Say Step-up Video Storytelling Fellowship intending to train content producers from the Lower Mekong countries to tell impactful visual stories about natural resources governance. This activity is conducted in collaboration with Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF).
They aim to select 25 Fellows from the Lower Mekong countries, who will get to learn the skills of effective video storytelling. During the Fellowship, they will learn how to strengthen human-interest angles and how to use effective mobile phone tools to produce engaging videos.
They will select the 10 best story ideas and award these applicants with grants of USD 2,500 each to produce their proposed video. Grantees will also be mentored by experienced video journalists.

ISIF Asia: Knowledge Grants Program
The Information Society Innovation Fund (ISIF Asia) is seeking applications for its Knowledge Grant Program to develop technical capacity and/or research around Internet network operations, from a technical and operational perspective, and in support of the Internet industry in the Asia Pacific region.
Interested organizations will have three types of grants to apply depending on the scope, scale, and reach of the proposed projects:
Small Grants: USD 30,000 targeted for pilot projects, proof of concept ideas, or narrow/concrete interventions around the Knowledge Program focus areas to be implemented over six, nine, or twelve months in the Asia Pacific region.
Scale-up Grants: USD 85,000 targeted for projects that already have a completed proof of concept or business case structured and have a clear growth strategy around the Knowledge Program focus areas to be implemented over twelve to eighteen months in the Asia Pacific region.
Impact Grants: USD 150,000 targeted for projects that have already achieved scale and stabilized after their first expansion and that have concrete plans to maximize the impact of their work around the Knowledge Program focus areas to be implemented over twelve to eighteen months in the Asia Pacific region.

Google for Startups Accelerator Program: India
Google for Startups Accelerator in India offers three-month, equity-free accelerator programs for Indian technology startups up to Series A.
Selected startups receive expert mentorship and support around AI/ML, Cloud, UX, Android, Web, Product Strategy, and Growth. In addition to Google technical project support, Accelerator programs include deep dives and workshops focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership.

The Biodiversity Accelerator+ Program in Southeast Asia
The Biodiversity Accelerator+ is a three-month, hybrid program designed to scale businesses creating a biodiversity-positive impact. They aim to support companies addressing the biodiversity crisis, by providing them with the resources they need to scale.

Google Europe Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
Google's education and scholarship programs aim to inspire and help students become future leaders in computing and technology by breaking down the barriers that prevent them from entering these fields. As part of their commitment, they’ve partnered with EmployAbility, a nonprofit organization that supports students with disabilities while they pursue education and promising careers, to help university students with disabilities work toward their academic goals in the field of computer science. Selected students will receive a 7,000 EUR award (or local equivalent) for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Cyber security academic startup accelerator program: phase 1
The Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology (DSIT) will work with Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, to invest up to £800,000 in innovative cyber security projects coming from an academic research base.
This competition aims to identify the most promising commercial opportunities in academia concerning cyber security. Your proposal must include the area of your research, the problem that you are solving, and your proposed solution.

Open Call 1 (OC1): “Decentralized Digital Identity”
TRUSTCHAIN Open Call 1 on "Decentralized Digital Identity" welcomes applications that will clearly define, upgrade/extend the state-of-the-art, and develop the following types of solutions: decentralized user-centric identity management framework, protocols for trustworthiness assessment of entities, smart oracles assessing the trustworthiness of data associated with digital identities. Its indicative budget is € 1 755 000 with up to a maximum of 15 proposals funded.

The Stockholm Techstars Accelerator invests in early-stage, high-growth companies looking to build and expand in the Nordic-Baltic startup ecosystem.

MCST-TÜBİTAK 2023 Joint Call for Project Proposals (Malta & Turkey)
Joint projects will be supported within the framework of the existing cooperation protocol between TÜBİTAK and the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST).
Scientists in Turkey who want to propose a joint project should agree as "project partners" with the scientists in Malta with whom they will carry out the project. Unilateral project applications are not accepted.

The 2023 PepsiCo Greenhouse Accelerator
MENA Sustainability Edition will select 6 startups and entrepreneurs with breakthrough sustainability agriculture innovations. Ultimately, furthering the PepsiCo Sustainability goals to reduce the carbon footprint across the agricultural space and enhance food security in the MENA region.
Selected innovators will receive an initial $20,000 USD grant to work on a new business initiative. At the program’s closing event, a panel of judges will award one participating company with a $100,000 USD prize to help advance and scale their innovation.

Scholarships for Master’s Degree in Computer Science (Nigeria)
The Embassy of France in Nigeria is launching a new scholarship program to finance a Masters degree in a French university for the academic year 2023/2024. Five grants will be awarded to the laureates wanting to pursue studies related to Computer science.
The scholarship covers two academic years if the scholar is admitted to M1, and one academic year if the scholar is admitted to M2. It caters to transportation, a monthly allowance, guidance to find affordable student housing, and healthcare coverage throughout the program. Tuitions fees are to be covered by the scholarship recipients.

BIC Africa Acceleration Program for Women Entrepreneurs 2023
The third edition of the BIC Africa Acceleration Program for Woman Entrepreneurs will support 15 women entrepreneurs from Angola, Comoros, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Somalia, and 5 others from other African countries willing to scale their businesses while contributing to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Twenty selected entrepreneurs will benefit from a full online training course (6 modules); will participate in dedicated group coaching sessions to deepen some of the topics addressed during the training; will be matched with European and African incubation experts that will accompany their growth trajectory through remote mentoring sessions; and will be exposed to the alumnae network of BIC Africa Women Acceleration program.

Call for Proposals: Supporting Civil Society Organizations in Somalia
The European Commission (EC) has announced the Call for Proposals to support civil society organizations that promote and protect human rights, foster freedom of expression and enhance peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and social cohesion, through arts, culture, and sports.
The current Call for Proposals also aims to strengthen the European Union’s partnership with civil society actors according to the three pillars of the EU Roadmap for Engagement with Civil Society in Somalia (2021-2025).
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
Minimum amount: EUR 500,000.
Maximum amount: EUR 600,000.

Start-Up Chile: Build 6 Call Now Open!
Applications are now open for Startup Chile’s Build 6 Call to attract, promote and create new high-impact technological ventures with a global vision, also promoting the environment for female entrepreneurship and supporting the strengthening of skills for the development of new businesses that enhance skills/knowledge to undertake and lead. In this way, the creation of high-impact technology businesses is encouraged in the early stages and the gaps between technology ventures led by men versus women are reduced.
They are looking for the best high-impact ventures, from a validated idea to an early-stage prototype. In addition to the complete acceleration program, they will provide you with a 10 million Chilean pesos (approx. 12.5K USD) equity-free fund so that you can grow your business without having to give up a part of it.
