Happy Tuesday!
It’s a holiday week here in Cambodia which has made for a slow news week! I have found a few interesting reads, especially the new USAID Digital Ecosystem Framework and GSMA has open sourced their biometric platform. Both of these resources should provide good opportunities for your #techforgood projects!
If you have anything you’d like me to share with this growing community of #techforgood practitioners, please let me know!
Have a great week!
Jesse
What’s interesting this week…
New USAID Digital Ecosystem Framework for International Development
USAID has released their new Digital Ecosystem Framework, which aims to help develop a practical structure for those of us working in technology for international development.
From ICTWorks: “USAID’s Digital Strategy explains that a digital ecosystem comprises stakeholders, systems, and an enabling environment that, together, empower people and communities to use digital technology to access services, engage with each other, and pursue economic opportunities. Building on this concept, the Agency created a framework that refines the ecosystem into a practical structure for development practitioners.”
Want to build your voice biometrics experience? We have the code!
GSMA is promoting a new release of their Biometrics for All platform. As part of this release they are publicly sharing the open source code for the platform. Having looked at the platform and code this week, I think this is a great project for any of you working on biomentrics or projects where there are identification barriers within your projects.

An interesting local news article about the recent launch of a Cambodian Government funded e-commerce platform. From the article: “E-commerce platforms launched to help promote Cambodian-made products, to both local and international markets, need to work better with local digital logistics infrastructure, according to sector experts.
Speaking at the Sustainable Agri-Food Partnership Model in Cambodia and Indonesia, logistics specialist and IndoCham President Pak Dalton Wong said e-commerce platforms must always consider the e-logistics and e-payment solutions required.”
