G-7 nations offer Vietnam $21b to cut coal use, speed up green transition
The Group of Seven industrialized nations will provide US$15.5 billion to help Vietnam transition away from coal. The deal is the third agreement of this type reached by G-7 nations. Southeast Asia venture capital: VC firms will be pickier in 2023
According to Crunchbase, venture capital-backed companies raised $369 billion for the first three quarters of 2022, a far cry from last year's record-breaking feat of $679.4 billion invested globally. However, there is still a lot of dry powder, according to venture capitalists.
Tech stocks took a tumble at the start of the year amid rising interest rates and disappointing earnings results. Startups in Southeast Asia are still largely unprofitable. Southeast Asian tech companies have lost most of their valuations since going public. Sea is now worth $30 billion, down from $200 billion late last year.

Harmonized standards can promote ASEAN digital commerce
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) estimates that a 10% increase in Internet usage could increase trade in goods by 3.4% and trade in services by 3.9% among countries in ASEAN. ASEAN needs to solve policy and interoperability issues to enhance trade from a regional perspective, and to help businesses improve their reputation and brand when participating in the global market.
the ASEAN Digital Trade Standards Working Group (DTSCWG) was established, under the ASEAN Advisory Committee on Standards and Quality (ACCSQ), with the aim of promoting harmonization, standardization and conformity assessment of digital trade in ASEAN. The DTSCWG will conduct research, policy consulting, and capacity building activities to help ASEAN businesses access and comply with digital trade standards.
